Reviews
“For there to be a top there must be a bottom. In order for there to be a goal to obtain there must be a beginning to consider. This sounds very basic and it would appear from the title and the cover that this is what the book is about: but those places are not what DuBayonne wants to talk about. It is the distance and time spent between these momentary points is where his heart and this story dwells. This is about the long part of our journey; that point between hope and victory, the long part where we spend most of our time with Jesus. Travelling through life on a vertical plane is not only simple and easy…it can many times be just aimless wandering. And because of that, point A and point B have the same elevation and consequently zero elation once the journey is done. God loves excitement, passion, and trust and that is why He chose to be with DuBayonne and his friends as he made this climb.”

"This book will encourage, motivate and inspire you to not give up, but to climb that mountain if for no other reason than to see the view from the top. However, if you are satisfied where you are and do not wish to experience life with a cool breeze on your face then this book is not for you. DuBayonne has used the valuable tool of placing pen to paper to help us deal with life in a manner that brings honor to God. Read this book and then, go climb your mountain in Gods strength and power."

From The Author
Mount Shasta has an impressive elevation of 14,179 ft. give or take a few feet. It is the fifth tallest peak in California, behind Mount Whitney, which is the tallest peak in the 48 contiguous United States at 14,505 ft. However in my opinion the 14 mile round trip trek up Mt. Shasta is a much harder climb than Mt. Whitney due to the conditions and the vertical climb. It is said that only 1/3rd of the people that attempt to climb Mt. Shasta actually make it to the summit.

This book is based on lessons I learned from climbing Mount Shasta. It is about taking our mountains in life whatever they may be. For some of us that mountain is taking responsibility for our health because we are diabetic or have other medical issues. For some it is taking on the mountain of overcoming a relational challenge we are experiencing. Yet for others it may be conquering the mountain of fear and doubt.

But this book is not just about climbing the mountain; it is about taking the mountain and getting to the top. It is also about the journey with Jesus to the top and back. Yes, Jesus is the only way that we will take our mountains in life.

So whatever your mountain is in life, whether studying for your finals, getting your college degree, working towards a job promotion, looking for a job, doing time in juvenile hall or prison, or facing your own personal challenges in life, I pray that this book would encourage you to overcome in Christ and say "Lord give me my mountain!"
